Medal, Plaque, 1896, Bronze, Belgium/France. AUGUSTE ROUSSEL 1896, by Medallist Alfred Eugene Damon. (For further investigation). Size: 150mm x 172mm. Weight: 200 Grams+. Exceptional large bas relief Cast Uniface Plaque, Obv. Portrait of Roussel left, name and date 1896 above. Rare. Purchased from Winstein Numismatists, France. Damon was a French, sculptor & medallist, born paris, pupil of Levillain. Exhibited at the salon 1902 and 1903 portrait medallions in bronze.
