Numismatic Guaranty Corporation

Founded in 1987, NGC is the world’s leading and largest third-party grading company. The company’s expertise in coin certification is paralleled by its commitment to educating and empowering collectors through the NGC Collectors Society, with resources like the NGC Registry, VarietyPlus™, the NGC Coin Explorer, interactive forums and free public access to the NGC Coin Price Guide.

NGC certifies and encapsulates US, World and ancient coins in its innovative and industry-leading EdgeView® Holder — also used by the Smithsonian to preserve and protect their most valuable coins. NGC offers Details Grading for coins with detrimental surface conditions, and is the only grading company to offer both Plus and Star Designations. NGC is proud to be the official grading service of the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) and the American Numismatic Association (ANA).

Numismatic Conservation Services

Founded in February 2001, NCS provides professional coin conservation services for dealers and collectors alike, with a pledge of integrity, impartiality and responsibility.

NCS evaluates all certified or raw coins, tokens and medals, and is able to remove contaminants such as PVC, soils, tarnish, carbon spots, verdigris and encrustation from surfaces. Removing detrimental material from the surface of an item may dramatically improve its appearance and eye appeal. This service is designed to further preserve the originality of the material only and prevent the damage that can result from contamination that is left untreated. NCS does not perform repairs or mechanical alterations of any kind.

NCS is the official conservation service of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).

Paper Money Guaranty

Founded in 2005, PMG is the most comprehensive third-party note grading and encapsulation service, delivering proven processes and standards for the care and evaluation of paper money. Through the PMG Collectors Society, PMG educates and empowers currency collectors, with resources like the PMG Registry, the online Population Report and the Chat Boards.

Certified Guaranty Corporation

Founded in 1999, CGC is the first independent, impartial third-party grading service for comic books, magazines, lobby cards and photographs. Both collectors and dealers alike recognize CGC as the market standard for comic book grading and certification. CGC is committed to promoting the hobby and enhancing the collecting experience through the CGC Collectors Society. The Comics Registry and Chat Boards allow members to share their collections and knowledge.

CGC encapsulates comic books and magazines in a high-impact, tamper-evident holder, featuring the CGC grade and identification information. In fact, as of 2012, CGC has graded and encapsulated over 2 million comic books.
