Medal, Plaquette, 1918, Silvered Bronze, France. “LA FRANCE RECONNAISANTE 1914 - 1918 » / « THE GREATFUL France 1914 - 1918", by Stern Co. Size: 70mm x 53mm. Obv. 7 adults to left, 3 children to left standing in line to thank standing female being hugged by child, Sailboats in background. "Stern Co. Paris" bottom right. Tree branch with leaves at top left, and bottom left; Rv. 3 line inscription, La France, Reconnaisante, 1914-1918, Ivy Leaves around, framed area for award name below center. Edge, Bronze with Triangle Hallmark. Purchased at the Chicago ANA World of Money Show, August 2014.
