Medal, 1960-1974, Bz, MISSION SAN BUENAVENTURA, MACO CA MISSION SERIES, So Called Dollar HK-UNL, NGC MS67RB PL, Cert# 3667879-010. This Catholic Commemorative Mission Series began in 1961 via Altobello Jewelers of Los Angeles, CA (Granada Enterprises for the medal series), with medals released in silver and bronze (41.5 mm), and this series appears to have wrapped up -- unfinished -- by the mid 1970s. Each Medal's reverse features an artifact that distinguishes the mission. History: Founded in 1782, the San Buenaventura Mission is the 9th and last mission founded by blessed Junipero Serra. Named after St. Bonaventure it is known as the "Mission by the sea". Comes with Original Box, Cotton Liner and Medal Notes Sheet.
