Owner Comments:
Franz Joseph is bare headed on this Corona ("Crown") of Austria, his home-half of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the corpse that Germany was chained to. Hungary struck its own Koronas with a slightly different but very similar design on both sides, and, with a wreath on Franz's head. These are more common than the Hungarian coins. They are very available raw on Ebay in various decent conditions. The mintage for Austria was 12,415,404 this year, for Hungary it is unknown to me.
