Medal, Plaque, 1832-1910, Bronze, Belgium. PORTRAIT OF LEOPOLD MALLAR (LAW) by Leon Sagehomme (1873-1944). Uniface. Size: 48mm x 75mm. Obv. Portrait Bust of Leopold Mallar, dates above, 1831 left, 1910 right, Oak Leaves at Truncation, Medallist signature along right edge, Leopold Maller below in raised letters; Rv. Blank. Charles Léopold Mallar ( Balen , December 2 1837 - Verviers , November 8 1910 ) was a Belgian member of parliament. He was a son of customs inspector Léopold Mallar and Joséphine Beaufort. Degree of Doctor of Laws (1860) at the ULB , he established himself as a lawyer in Verviers. He was President of the Bar Association in 1887, 1890 and 1894. In 1875-1876 he was a county councilor, and from 1876 to 1910 councilor at Verviers. In 1878 he was elected Liberal MP for the district of Verviers and held this office until 1894.
