Medal, Plaquette, c.1935 (Awarded 1951), Bronze, Belgium. ARDENNAIS HORSE CONTEST AWARD by Herman Heuser (1862-1938). Size: 56mm x 53mm. Obv. Horse Head with Bridle, ears up, medallist signature at neck, ideogram below; Rv. Wreath with berries, central circle around edges: Cheval De Trait Ardennais, Libramont, and in center of circle, "1926-1951 Concours Hippique". Attractive. Purchased in Belgium. Note: The Ardennes or Ardennais is one of the oldest breeds of draft horse, and originates from the Ardennes area in Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
