Medal, Plaquette, 1897, Silver Color Base Metal - Pewter, France. PHOTO CLUB OF PARIS 1897, Signed Jules BRATEAU (1844-1923). Rectangle, dated and awarded in 1897 to Exhibitors, awarded to C. de Mazibourg (Carrie de Mazibourg who became a fairly famous photographer of Horse Contests). Left, Photo Club De Paris, Sunflowers wrapped at bottom stem with banner from tablet with awardee name. Sun and Rays to right, warming the Sunflowers. Medallist name signed at right, 1897 in Roman Numerals. Size: 90mm x 61mm. The Photo Club de Paris was founded in 1888. Purchased from Hedley Betts. The collection also has another plaquette from the Photo Club of Paris, dated 1898.
