Medal, Plaquette, 1911, Bronze, France. VINTAGE FOOTBALL, by French Medallist Marie Alexandre-Lucien Coudray (1864-1932). Size: 71mm x 39mm. Weight: 90 Grams. Obv. Turn of the 20th Century Football Game Scene, Ten Players Running with Football in Action, Trees in background, Very Attractive; Rv. Oak Leaves around Tablet Frame for Inscription if Awarded. Purchased in France. Medallist info: Coudray studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and was a student of Dumont, Thomas, Allouard and Ponscarme. In 1893 he won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving. In 1898 he won a first prize at the Salon and a silver medal at the Universal Exposition. Coudray died in 1932.
