Medal, Plaquette, 1948, Bronze, France. CENTENARY OF THE DISCOVERY OF PANICONOGRAPHY BY FIRMIN GILLOT. Medallist: Jean Vernon. Size: 90mm x 65mm; Obv. Portrait bust of Firmin Gillot, master engraver, 1820-1872; Rv. Offert Par Cliches Union, Centenaire and inscribed to Georges Oudard (French Writer and Resistance Fighter during WWII), October 1948. A Similar medal plaquette, (the same except different awardee) is listed by Antiken 9/2014 at 550 Euros. Attractive. Purchased in France. Firmin Gillot, 1948, a bronze award plaque by J. Vernon for the Clichés Union Gillot-Rousset-Ruckert, bust of Gillot right, rev. legend in 11 lines.
