I consider it an honor to be part of the NGC Registry and for my set to have been chosen to receive this award. My goal is to assemble a collection of So-Called Dollars and related medals that consists of attractive, quality examples no matter their grade. Many of the medals in my set are finest known or top pop examples, with the majority of the remaining medals that make up the set being within a point or two of top pop status. World Coins Cozdred United Kingdom Gold Sovereigns -- Date Set Complete set 1817 to date. Total of 175 dates as of 2023. Have 114 = 65%.

I started collecting gold sovereigns in Jan 2022, so the set is just getting started. A few of the rarer years will not be obtainable on my limited budget, but I hope to acquire as many as possible.

In every case, my main objective is to obtain coins with great "eye appeal". Not looking for the highest grade, but rather the nicest looking example that I can find for each year. Since most MS60 to MS62 coins are heavily "bag-marked", I will generally seek out nicer looking AU coins for my collection.

A separate sub-goal is to collect all of the 1979 to 2022 coins in Proof condition. Since only a few thousand were struck each year, that is going to take a while! So this is a long-term project.

Series Sets OA Nentico First US Dollar Study and Collection Collection Objective: (Updated May-2023)

My objective is to assemble a collection of one specimen, ideally the first year of every US Dollar Series. By doing so, learn about the details of every unique dollar series. The Gobrecht Dollar has been excluded due to the limit number of coins minted and the shear affordability for a modest collector.

As I studied the various dollar series I have defined (26) Dollar Types containing (29) coins that are divided into four (4) distinct groups; Gold Dollars, Classic Silver Dollars, Modern Clad Dollars and Modern Era Silver Dollars. I’ve omitted Commemorative Dollars as I think these fall into their own distinctive group

The references I found most useful in collecting these coins are "English Silver Coinage - since 1649" by P. Alan Rayner and "English Copper, Tin, and Bronze Coins in the British Museum 1558-1958" by C. Wilson Peck.


These coins were acquired - mostly as raw coins - between 1982 and 2017.

World Coins deposito 26 Centuries of Gold Primary Objective: Assemble a timeline of gold coins from the start of coinage through the present.
Ideally, this will be without more than 100 years between the examples for each century. The second century BC (100's BC) is a tough century to get gold coins from.

Secondary Objective: Illustrate the longest running issues of coins used in long-distance trade between neighbors, enemies, and strangers. Once coinage was developed, major international trade almost always relied on gold and silver coins. This is why Western Europe was draining out gold and silver to India and East Asia in the long run; a forerunner of today’s major trade deficits between the “West” and modern India and East Asian states.
Examples of “mini series” include the Netherlands gold ducats of 1586 to the present, Venetian ducats from the 1280’s to 1797, Islamic dinars and other gold units from about 700 to the present, Roman gold from about 0 to 1200, etc.

Tertiary Objective: Identifiable shipwreck coins, coins with good pedigree, coins of villains and heroes.

Thematic & Topical Coins Shalako StarEagle Niue COMIX Coins, 2022 - Date, Proof For this set I'm going to discard the usual slab pictures and either use NGC High Res photos or create new ones using one of the three following processes:

Photos taken with Nikon D3300 DSL Camera with attached AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G lens. A CS-920 copy stand and external lights were utilized to setup shots. Adobe Photoshop Elements used to fix any digital artifacts. OR

Photos were taken with a Nikon D3300 DSL Camera with a Nikon Macro 105mm F/2.8 lens attached.. A CS-920 copy stand and external lights were utilized to setup shots. Adobe Photoshop Elements used to fix any digital artifacts.
