Palau Eternal Sculptures I
2016 – Cupid & Psyche
This 2 Oz Silver Coin is the first issue of the new series “Eternal Sculptures” and is dedicated to a love story, originally from Metamorphoses, and well known sculpture - Cupid and Psyche. For the first time, a coin has two-sides Smartminting! This coin features marble effect, has unbelievable details on the high relief surface and a Black Proof quality. Limited mintage to only 999 pcs worldwide.
Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss is a sculpture by Antonio Canova first commissioned in 1787 by Colonel John Campbell. It is regarded as a masterpiece of Neoclassical sculpture, but shows the mythological lovers at a moment of great emotion, characteristic of the emerging movement of Romanticism. It represents the god Cupid in the height of love and tenderness, immediately after awakening the lifeless Psyche with a kiss. The story of Cupid and Psyche is taken from Lucius Apuleius’ Latin novel The Golden Ass, and was popular in art.
Joachim Murat acquired the first or prime version in 1800. After his death the statue entered the Louvre Museum in Paris, France in 1824; Prince Yusupov, a Russian nobleman acquired the 2nd version of the piece from Canova in Rome in 1796, and it later entered the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.
Having been recently awakened, Psyche reaches up towards her lover, Cupid, as he gently holds her by supporting her head and breast. Antonio Canova’s fine technique in carving marble contrasts their realistic smooth skin with the surrounding elements. Loosely draped around Psyche’s lower body, a sheet further emphasizes the difference between the texture of skin and drapery. Rough texture provides the basis of the rock upon which the composition is placed supplementing the distinctions of elements. Fine curls and lines make up the hair and light feathery details create realistic wings upon the landing Cupid.
The obverse of the coin depicts the famous sculpture Cupid and Psyche, in very high relief. In the center of the coin, this two protagonists are hugging in a love scene. The special paint used for the sculpture creates a beautiful marble effect. All around of the obverse, a floral decorative pattern all around the border. On the right side of the obverse, the logo and the name of the series: "Eternal Sculptures" and "Cupid and Psyche" – the name of the coin. In the bottom of the coin, an attractive inscription of the issue year with roman numbers: "MMXVI" - 2016.
The reverse of the coin depicts the other side of the sculpture, in High Relief and finished in the same marble effect. All around of the reverse, a beautiful decorative pattern. On the right side, the Coat of Arms of Palau and the face value: "10 Dollars".

Aphrodite of Milos, better known as the Venus de Milo, is an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. Created sometime between 130 and 100 BCE, it is believed to depict Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty (Venus to the Romans). It is a marble sculpture, slightly larger than life size at 203 cm (6 ft 8 in) high.
Part of an arm and the original plinth were lost following its discovery. From an inscription that was on its plinth, it is thought to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch; earlier, it was mistakenly attributed to the master sculptor Praxiteles. It is currently on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The statue is named after the Greek island of Milos, where it was discovered.
The Aphrodite of Milos is widely renowned for the mystery of her missing arms. There is a filled hole below her right breast that originally contained a metal tenon that would have supported the separately carved right arm.
The obverse of the coin depicts the famous sculpture Venus de Milo, in very High Relief. The special paint used for the sculpture creates a beautiful marble effect. All around of the obverse, a floral decorative pattern. On the right side of the obverse, the logo and the name of the series: "Eternal Sculptures" and "Venus de Milo" – the name of the coin. On the bottom of the obverse, an attractive inscription of the issue year with roman numbers: "MMXVII" - 2017.
The reverse of the coin depicts the other side of the sculpture, in High Relief and finished in the same marble effect. All around of the reverse, a beautiful decorative pattern. On the left side, the Coat of Arms of Palau and the face value: "10 Dollars"

This beautiful 1 ounce silver coin is the first release in the new NIGHT ANIMALS series and features one of China’s most endangered species - the Red Panda. Maximum mintage is 499 pieces.
The black proof coin has a stunning relief thanks to the the application of CIT & BH Mayers’ superb SmartMinting technology.
The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also called the lesser panda, the red bear-cat, and the red cat-bear, is a mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs; it is slightly larger than a domestic cat. It is arboreal, feeds mainly on bamboo, but also eats eggs, birds, and insects.
On this coin you see a Red Panda walking towards the viewer is a fine rendition that looks spot on for appearance and does a good job of filling the coin without looking like it’s been squeezed into the shape. Framed on both sides by bamboo, the use of colour on only the panda itself does a fine job of making it stand out from its ‘habitat’. The coin title and date are inscribed on this face, but are both quite innocuous as they’re coloured to match the background surrounding them. Issued for Cook Islands, the obverse obviously carries the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the usual coin inscriptions. This face is also finished as a black proof and has a moon and starry night sky struck in it – a nice touch.

Death, due to its prominent place in human culture, is frequently imagined as a personified force, also known as the Grim Reaper. In some mythologies, the Grim Reaper causes the victim’s death by coming to collect them. In turn, people in some stories try to hold on to life by avoiding Death’s visit, or by fending Death off with bribery or tricks. Other beliefs hold that the Spectre of Death is only a psychopomp, serving to sever the last ties between the soul and the body, and to guide the deceased to the afterlife, without having any control over when or how the victim dies. Death is most often personified in male form, although in certain cultures Death is perceived as female (for instance, Marzanna in Slavic mythology).

The Rape of Proserpina is a large Baroque marble sculptural group by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1621 and 1622. Bernini was only twenty-three years old at its completion. It depicts the Abduction of Proserpina, where Proserpina is seized and taken to the underworld by the god Pluto.
As with many of Bernini’s early works, it was commissioned by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, possibly alongside a portrait of Scipione’s uncle Pope Paul V (who had died in 1621). Bernini received at least three payments for the statue, of value of at least 450 Roman scudi. The sculpture was begun in 1621 and completed in 1622. Quite soon after completion, the statue was given by Scipione to Cardinal Ludovisi in 1622, who transported it to his villa. Purchased by the Italian State, it returned to the Villa Borghese in 1908.
Proserpina is an ancient Roman goddess whose cult, myths and mysteries were based on those of Greek Persephone and her mother Demeter, the Greek goddess of grain and agriculture. Just as Persephone was thought to be a daughter of Demeter, Romans made Proserpina a daughter of Demeter’s Roman equivalent, Ceres. Like Persephone, Proserpina is associated with the underworld realm and its ruler; and along with her mother Ceres, with the springtime growth of crops and the cycle of life, death and rebirth or renewal. Her name is a Latinisation of “Persephone”. Her core myths – her forcible abduction by the god of the Underworld, her mother’s search for her and her eventual but temporary restoration to the world above – are the subject of works in Roman and later art and literature. In particular, Proserpina’s seizure by the god of the Underworld – usually described as the Rape of Proserpina, or of Persephone – has offered dramatic subject matter for Renaissance and later sculptors and painters.
The obverse of the coin reproduces the incredible front view of the famous sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the Rape of Proserpina. An exceptional high relief and the use of a special paint to recreate the sculpture's natural marble look, emphasizes the extraordinary beauty of this piece of art in miniature. All around the obverse, a floral decorative pattern completes the coin. On the right side of the obverse, the wonderful logo of the series and the inscriptions: "ETERNAL SCULPTURES" - the name of the series and "RAPE OF PROSERPINA" – the name of the coin. On the bottom of the obverse, the year of issue written in Roman numbers: "MMXVIII" - 2018.
The reverse of the coin reproduces the back view of the sculpture, using the same finishes and marble effect. All around of the reverse, a beautiful decorative pattern. On the left side, the Coat of Arms of Palau and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIC OF PALAU" – the issuing country and "10 DOLLARS" – the face value.

The American (North and South America) horned owls and the Old World eagle-owls make up the genus Bubo, at least as traditionally described. The genus name Bubo is Latin for the Eurasian eagle-owl. This genus, depending on definition, contains about one or two dozen species of typical owls (family Strigidae) and is found in many parts of the world. Some of the largest living Strigiformes are in Bubo. Traditionally, only owls with ear-tufts were included in this genus, but that is no longer the case.

Leda and the Swan is a story and subject in art from Greek mythology in which the god Zeus, in the form of a swan, seduces the mortal woman Leda. According to later Greek mythology, Leda bore Helen and Polydeuces, children of Zeus, while at the same time bearing Castor and Clytemnestra, children of her husband Tyndareus, the King of Sparta. In the W. B. Yeats version, it is subtly suggested that Clytemnestra, although being the daughter of Tyndareus, has somehow been traumatized by what the swan has done to her mother. According to many versions of the story, Zeus took the form of a swan and seduced Leda on the same night she slept with her husband King Tyndareus. In some versions, she laid two eggs from which the children hatched. In other versions, Helen is a daughter of Nemesis, the goddess who personified the disaster that awaited those suffering from the pride of Hubris.
The subject was rarely seen in the large-scale sculpture of antiquity, although a representation of Leda in sculpture has been attributed in modern times to Timotheus; small-scale sculptures survive showing both reclining and standing poses, in cameos and engraved gems, rings, and terracotta oil lamps. Recently, an ancient fresco depicting Leda and the Swan was found at the Pompeii archeological site in Italy. Thanks to the literary renditions of Ovid and Fulgentius it was a well-known myth through the Middle Ages, but emerged more prominently as a classicizing theme, with erotic overtones, in the Italian Renaissance.
The obverse of the coin reproduces the incredible front view of the famous sculpture, Leda and the Swan. An exceptional high relief and the use of a special paint to recreate the sculpture's natural marble look, emphasizes the extraordinary beauty of this piece of art in miniature. Third Coin in this Popular Series
The echidna is no stranger to Australian coinage appearing on Australia’s 5c piece since the inception of decimal currency in 1966.
Limited mintage of 1,000 pieces worldwide.
Echidnas are small, relatively primitive mammals that are covered with coarse hair and spines, the reason they are sometimes called spiny anteaters. Superficially they resemble the anteaters of South America, and other spiny mammals like hedgehogs and porcupines. They have elongated, slender snouts that have the functions of both the mouth and nose. Having very short, strong limbs with large claws, they are powerful diggers.
Capturing the Echidna feasting on one of its favourite foods – ants – the contrast between the sparkling silver and Black Proof backdrop instantly catches the eye. The echidna is native to Australia and is one of the few mammals that lay eggs.
The obverse of the coin depicts a beautiful echidna, surrounded by vegetation. On top of the reverse, the inscriptions: "AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT" – the name of the series and "ECHIDNA" – the name of the coin.
The reverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "NIUE" – the issuing country, "2020" – the year of issue and "ONE DOLLAR" – the face value and "1OZ 999 SILVER" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver.

2020 – Tre Grazie (The Three Graces)
This 2 Oz Silver Coin is the fifth issue of the new series “Eternal Sculptures.” This coin has two-sides Smartminting! This coin features marble effect, has unbelievable details on the high relief surface and a Black Proof quality.
Limited mintage to only 999 pcs worldwide.
Originally commissioned by Joséphine de Beauharnais, the famous French dictator, Napoleon’s first wife, The Three Graces is a 1.82m tall sculpture in white marble. Carved in Rome by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova, it was completed in 1814 and now resides in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.
John Russell, the 6th Duke of Bedford, saw the almost completed statue in Canova’s studio and tried unsuccessfully to purchase it. So enamoured by the work, he had Canova make a second, slightly different version which was carved between 1815-1817. This version, said to be preferred by Canova, now resides in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, or the Scottish National Gallery (It is jointly owned). It originally sat in a custom built top-lit rotunda called the Temple of the Graces and was one of the most widely admired works of the time.
The ‘de Beauharnais’ version was carved in a veined marble, but the ‘Bedford’ version changed that to a clean white marble. Other differences were a change from a square to round base, and a slightly thicker waist on the central figure. They remain fundamentally the same, however.
The statue, in the Neoclassical style, depicts the three charities, Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia, all daughters of Zeus. They were said to represent mirth (Euphrosyne), elegance (Aglaea), and youth/beauty (Thalia). They were said to have delighted the guests of the gods by presiding over events, like banquets, for example.
As for Canova, he remains admired as one of the greatest European artists of his day and his works some of the best of any period. Born on 1 November 1757, he died on 13 October 1822. He had an impressive career, working with many of the periods great figures, even sculpting a statue of George Washington as a Roman Emperor that was unfortunately destroyed by fire in 1831. After his death, his estate was used to complete the Tempio Canoviano where his body was interred, although his heart was interred at the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice, and his right hand preserved in a vase at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Every plaster model and sculpture from Canova’s Roman studio was removed and placed in the Tempio, which is sited on a hilltop in Possagno in the Province of Treviso.
The obverse of the coin reproduces the incredible front view of the famous sculpture by Antonio Canova – Tre Grazie. An exceptional high relief and the use of a special paint to recreate the sculpture's natural marble look, emphasizes the extraordinary beauty of this piece of art in miniature. All around the obversee, a floral decorative pattern completes the coin. From Wikipedia:
A black panther is the melanistic colour variant of the leopard (Panthera pardus) and the jaguar (Panthera onca). Black panthers of both species have excess black pigments, but their typical rosettes are also present. They have been documented mostly in tropical forests, with black leopards in Africa and Asia, and black jaguars in South America. Melanism is caused by a recessive allele in the leopard, and by a dominant allele in the jaguar.

2020 - Mongolia - Mechanical Bee: Clockwork Evolution
1st in the series.
Mintage: 999 pieces worldwide.
This one-of-a-kind 3 oz silver coin opens the “Clockwork Evolution” series. It is dedicated to a well-known insect – a bee.
The role of the bee in nature makes it a symbol of hard work, sustainability, and life. One more honey bee symbolism relates to fertility because of pollination. The bright yellow stripes on the bee represent the honey it produces. The yellow colour of the bee is also a symbol of the sun and the energy from which it gets life. Bees can be a reminder to be productive in our daily lives and give back to the world in the best way possible.
The coin is minted for the first time in a very particular way – it is half coloured and half mechanical. The coin is decorated with an innovative multilayered technique.
The obverse clockwork side is struck to a lower relief and the delineation between the two halves is sharply defined, thus giving the impression that we’re peeling back the natural layer to reveal the mechanical underpinnings. It reminds greatly of the scene in The Terminator, when the T-800 peels back the skin to reveal the exoskeleton below, looking almost like an engineering autopsy. The obverse of the coin images a bee in the strong contrast between real and mechanical, coloured and silver engraved.
The reverse of the coin depicts a clock mechanism, with many details and high relief, all engraved on the silver. The Mongolian coat of arms emblem and face value is also shown.

2021 – Australia At Night: Dingo
FIFTH COIN IN THIS POPULAR SERIES
Brought to Australian shores thousands of years ago, and by nature unpredictable, the Dingo is Australia’s native wild dog and largest carnivorous mammal. Noted for their speed, agility and stamina, dingoes are active at night, hunting in packs between dusk and dawn for prey including kangaroos, rabbits and wombats. Interestingly, although it could be the world’s oldest breed of dog, the dingo cannot bark. What the dingo can do, however, is swivel its head around almost a full 180 degrees in both directions!
Australia's Native Dog, The Dangerous Dingo
The Australian Dingo is an ancient, free roaming, primitive canine unique to the continent of Australia, specifically the outback. Its original ancestors are thought to have arrived with humans from southeast Asia thousands of years ago, when dogs were still relatively undomesticated and closer to their wild Asian Gray Wolf parent species, Canis lupus. Since that time, living largely apart from people and other dogs, as well as the demands of Australian ecology, has caused them to develop features and instincts that distinguish them from all other canines. Australian Dingoes have maintained ancient characteristics that unite them, along with other primitive dogs, into a taxon named after them, Canis lupus dingo, and has separated them from the domestic dog, Canis lupus familiaris.
Dingoes play an important role in the various ecosystems of Australia; they are apex predators and the largest terrestrial predators on the continent. Due to their habit of attacking livestock and the vulnerability of sheep, dingoes and other wild dogs are seen as a pest by the sheep industry and the resulting control methods normally run counter to dingo conservation efforts. An important animal in Aboriginal culture, the dingo is depicted in many rock carvings and cave paintings.
Today, it is estimated that the majority of the modern "dingoes" are also descended from other domestic dogs. The number of these so-called dingo-hybrids had increased significantly over the last decades and the dingo was therefore classified as vulnerable. "Pure dingos" are getting rare, and are the subject of much debate and conservation efforts.
The latest release in this sought-after series is Australia's own wild dog, the resourceful and cunning Dingo. This medium-sized canid that possesses a lean, hardy body designed for speed, agility and stamina. Genetic evidence suggests that there has been no artificial selection over the past five millennia, so that the dingo therefore represents an early form of dog from 4,000–6,000 years ago. They have lived, bred, and undergone natural selection in the wild, isolated from other canids until the arrival of European settlers, resulting in an unique canid.
Limited mintage of 1,000 pieces worldwide.
Obverse
A mother Dingo rests with her two pups near their den, under the light of a full moon, while a large male Dingo howls at the same. The scene sports a proprietary black treatment to simulate the nighttime. The legends AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT and DINGO denote the theme.

2021 – Australia At Night: Wombat
Fourth Coin in this Popular Series
The Ultra-Rare Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat
The northern hairy-nosed wombat (Lasiorhinus krefftii), or yaminon, is one of three extant species of wombats. It is one of the rarest land mammals in the world; unfortunately it is critically endangered. Its historical range extended across New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland as recently as 100 years ago, but it is now restricted to one single location, a 3-square-kilometer range within the Epping Forest National Park in Queensland. In 2003, the total population consisted of a mere 113 individuals, including only about 30 breeding females. In the last census taken in 2013, the estimated population was 196 individuals, with an additional 9 individuals at the Richard Underwood Nature Refuge at Yarran Downs near St. George in southern Queensland. In recent years, the population has experienced a slow but steady increase to an estimated 230 individuals in 2015.
The Wombat
There are only three extant species of wombats, a large Australian marsupial. Wombats are short-legged, muscular quadrupeds, approximately 39 inches (1 meter) in length, with a very short tail. An adult common wombat averages a weight of over 55 pounds (25 kg). They are found in forested, mountainous, and heathland areas of south-eastern Australia and Tasmania. The name "wombat" comes from the Eora Aboriginal community, who were the original inhabitants of the Sydney area.
Wombats' fur color can vary from sandy to brown, or from gray to black. Wombats are herbivores: their diet consists mostly of grasses, sedges, herbs, bark and roots. Their incisor teeth somewhat resemble those of the placental rodents, being adapted for gnawing tough vegetation.
Wombats dig extensive burrow systems with rodent-like front teeth and powerful claws. One distinctive adaptation of wombats is their backwards-facing pouch. The advantage of this is that when digging, the wombat does not spray dirt into its pouch or over its young. Although mainly crepuscular and nocturnal, wombats will also venture out to feed on cool or overcast days. They are not commonly seen, but leave ample evidence of their passage, treating fences as minor inconveniences to be gone through or under.
Dingos (Australian wild dogs) and Tasmanian Devils prey on wombats. The wombat's primary defense is its toughened rear hide, with most of its posterior made of cartilage! This, combined with its lack of a meaningful tail, makes it difficult for any predator that follows the wombat into its tunnel to bite and injure the animal. When attacked, wombats dive into a nearby tunnel, using their rump to block a pursuing attacker. Wombats may allow an intruder to force its head over their back and then use its powerful legs to crush the skull of the predator against the roof of the tunnel, or drive it off with two-legged donkey kicks!
Wombats have an extraordinarily slow metabolism, taking around 14 days to complete digestion! This aids their survival in arid conditions. They generally move slowly, and because of this are known for taking shortcuts, but when threatened they can reach up to 25 mph (40 km/h) and maintain that speed for up to 90 seconds. Wombats are wide-ranging foragers and nocturnal, with strong instincts for burrowing behaviors. These characteristics make them unsuitable as pets, despite their cute and furry appearance.
Limited mintage of 1,000 pieces worldwide.
Obverse
A nocturnal, adult wombat scurries out of its den, under the light of the moon that rises over the farmhouse and windmill of an outback sheep or cattle station. The scene sports a proprietary black treatment to simulate the nighttime, when the wombat is most active. The legends AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT and WOMBAT denote the theme.

Palau Eternal Sculptures I
2021 – Ecstasy of Saint Teresa
This special coin has an all new design on the obverse – Bernini’s ‘Ecstacy of Saint Teresa’ and there are a few changes from the coins that have gone before. Most notable is the bumping up in the amount of fine silver from two ounces to five. This has allowed the diameter to increase from near 39 mm to 65 mm. The obverse looks ostensibly the same as the earlier coins, but also includes some gold colour. Not only is this an end of series special, the subject is part of a wider setting, which the colour helps reproduce. Each of the earlier coins showcased a sculpture that is freestanding in isolation.
The reverse differs considerably. In this case the sculpture does not pass through the coin, instead it’s replaced by a superb encapsulated view of the whole series of two-ounce coins in miniature form. You can see CIT’s enhanced smartminting at work here and it looks mightily impressive.
The obverse of the coin reproduces the incredible front view of the famous sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini – Ecstasy of Saint Teresa. The coin has an exceptional high relief and the use of a special paint to recreate the sculpture's natural marble look, emphasizes the extraordinary beauty of this piece of art in miniature. All around the obverse, a floral decorative pattern completes the coin. On the right side of the obverse, the wonderful logo of the series and the inscriptions: "ETERNAL SCULPTURES" - the name of the series and "ECSTASY OF SAINT TERESA" – the name of the coin. On the bottom of the obverse, the year of issue written in Roman numbers: "MMXXI" - 2021.
All around the impressive reverse, the perfect miniature of all five coins in the series with the Coat of Arms of Palau and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIC OF PALAU" – the issuing country and "20 DOLLARS" – the face value.
From Wikipedia: Ecstasy of Saint Teresa Artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini Year 1647–1652 Catalogue 48 Type Sculpture Medium Marble Dimensions Life-size Location Santa Maria della Vittoria, Rome 41°54′17″N 12°29′39″E Preceded by Raimondi Chapel Followed by Truth Unveiled by Time (Bernini)
The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa (also known as Saint Teresa in Ecstasy or the Transverberation of Saint Teresa; Italian: L'Estasi di Santa Teresa or Santa Teresa in estasi) is a sculptural group in white marble set in an elevated aedicule in the Cornaro Chapel of the church of Santa Maria della Vittoria in Rome. It was designed and completed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the leading sculptor of his day, who also designed the setting of the Chapel in marble, stucco and paint. It is generally considered to be one of the sculptural masterpieces of the High Roman Baroque. The sculpture depicts Teresa of Ávila, a Spanish Carmelite nun and saint, swooning in a state of religious ecstasy, while an angel holding a spear stands over her.

Palau - Hunters By Night Series (Eagle Owl)
The little mouse that lives in a field does not suspect anything. Calm and unconcerned, feeling safe under the cover of darkness. But wide-open orange eyes have taken hold of the little creature. A hunter high up in the branches readies itself, stretches its wings and silently dashes through the night towards its furry prey.
The second edition of the Hunters by Night series is a tribute to one of nature’s finest predators – the Eagle Owl. Alongside the ultra-high relief in enhanced smartminting technology, the intense, glistening eyes of the feathered beast pierce the deep black night, which is achieved in a very realistic way by our exclusive Obsidian Black finish. So little light is reflected of this ultra-black finish that it requires you to view the piece at just the right angle to fully see all the incredible details the coin possesses.
Limited to 888 pieces.
The obverse side of 2021 Hunters at Night Eagle Owl Coins showcase a Eurasian Eagle Owl in close up. The feathers and the background are rendered with an Obsidian black finish, which highlights the bird’s brilliant and ominous incandescent eyes. The black and orange colors and the bird’s eyes looking directly at you is enough to send shivers down your spine.
On the reverse of the 2021 Palau Silver Hunters at Night Eagle Owl Coin is the Palau coat of arms. Surrounding it are stunning rock formations and a starry night sky, which would be the environment where Eagle Owls are commonly found. Inscriptions include The Republic of Palau, $10, and Hunters by Night.
The Eurasian Eagle Owl is quite the intimidating bird. Scientifically known as the Bubo, these owls are among the largest in the world. And with an average weight of ten pounds and a wingspan of nearly six feet, they are truly dominant birds of prey. If you’re a bird watcher, you can find them in both deserts and mountainous regions of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

This 1 oz Silver Colored-Proof coin has a limited mintage of only 700 coins worldwide.
Tarot Card X. "Fortune" often depicts a large wheel that contains a variety of symbols. In the context of this coin's reverse, the 12 constellations of the zodiac are on the wheel, with the exception of Libra, which is instead subtly donned by the blindfolded lady "Fortuna", the Roman goddess of luck, having the upside-down symbol on the center of the robes around her. Fortuna also carries a cornucopia or "horn of plenty" containing plenty of fruits and vegetables.
While the obverse depicts Lady Luck and the wheel of the zodiac, the reverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Cameroon, which is normally adorned with the colors of their flag, a scale in the middle and a map of the nation behind it. The words "Peace", "Work", and "Fatherland" encircle the top of the coat of arms, with Republic of Cameroon on the bottom, as well as the year, metal content, and monetary value.
These coins are legal tender backed by the Republic of Cameroon government, and were struck at the Mint of Poland.

2022 – Australia At Night: Leadbeater’s Possum
Sixth Coin in this Popular Series
The nocturnal creature of choice for the latest release is Leadbeater’s possum. These possums sleep all day and then at night emerge, leaping from tree to tree to find food. The easiest way to distinguish them is by the black stripe on their backs and their unique club-shaped tails.
Leadbeater’s possum is named after John Leadbeater, a taxidermist from the Museum of Victoria. These adorable little creatures are exclusive to Victoria, Australia, where they have earned the status as the state’s official animal. They are quite small and agile, sleeping during the day and then emerging at night to find food in the trees. They are omnivores, feeding off arthropods for protein and tree sap for energy.
A trio of Leadbeater’s possums is featured on the obverse side of 2022 1 oz Proof Leadbeater’s Possum Black Coins. In the foreground is a larger possum perched on a branch, and behind it are two other possums on different branches. The backdrop of the design consists of a beautiful full moon. Inscriptions along the top read Australia at Night, Leadbeater’s Possum.
Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the reverse. Her Majesty is shown in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara that she received as a wedding gift in 1947. Along the edges are the words Elizabeth II, Niue 2022, One Dollar, 1 oz .999 Silver.

Palau - Hunters By Night Series (Python)
The Republic of Palau’s popular Hunters By Night coin series celebrates some of the world’s most distinctive nocturnal predators. The first two entries paid tribute to the panther and the eagle owl, and the latest features the python. More specifically, it features the black-headed python, an Australian species in this multi-continental group of ambush predators known for taking their prey with sharp, hooked fangs and constricting them in their powerful coils.
Australia’s black-headed python is one of the most fascinating members of the vast group of python species whose hunting grounds spread across multiple continents. They evolved not only for nocturnal hunting, but for daytime heat management: the snake merely needs to have its head poked out in the morning sunlight to warm its whole body. Known also by the taxonomic name ASPIDITES MELANOCEPHALUS, this python’s striking matte-black head inspires the stunning design of the latest coin in the Hunters By Night series.
The 2022 Palau Silver Hunters By Night Python Coin is a creation of SmartMinting technology that makes possible its amazing obsidian-black, proof-quality finish, and strikingly realistic artwork.
Limited mintage of only 888 coins!
The obverse side features an ultra high-relief sculpture of a black python’s head, extruding from the coin as if emerging from its surface with its tongue flickering and riveting red-gold eyes staring. The snake’s scaled body forms a backdrop.
The coin’s reverse side features an engraving of the Republic of Palau’s “Rainbow’s End” emblem surrounded by silk-finish decorative touches that show the rocks of the Australian wilderness and the starry sky above. It features the inscriptions “Republic of Palau,” “Hunters By Night,” and “10$” for the face value.

What a tremendous work of numismatic art—a large, adult tiger silently stalks its prey in the midst of a bamboo forest. The engraving is so fine, the detailing so intricate, and the designs so delicate that individual whiskers and hairs of the tiger's coat can be discerned! Struck from a HUGE five troy ounces of .999 pure silver, and spanning a massive 65 mm in diameter (nearly 3 inches!), this imposing coin represents an appropriate and commanding tribute on the Year of the Tiger! This dynamically rendered wonder couldn't be more realistic! The Chinese character for "Tiger" is indicated inside a cartouche and, like the tiger itself, is highlighted in pure gold plating. There are no legends on this side to detract from the drama of the vignette.
Tremendously low mintage—just 888!
Multiple technologies: a black proof finish, highlighted with 24-karat pure gold gilding!
Each coin is individually numbered on the edge (matches certificate number), making each coin truly unique!

Mongolia - Clockwork Evolution Series – Mechanical Turtle
Mechanical Turtle is the third coin in the “Clockwork Evolution” series, one of the most successful series signed by Power Coin. The series focuses on “evolved” animals with both organic and mechanical parts. I know that after “Bee” and “Ladybug” many of you were probably expecting to see another insect, but, SURPRISE, for this release a reptile was chosen and I can already tell you that the next coin will be even more surprising!
The animal is depicted from a top view, like the other two animals in the previous designs.
The coin's obverse shows a view from above of a turtle with both natural and mechanical parts. The turtle shell has a brilliant coloration and features the typical multi colored pattern that these reptiles have on their back. The turtle shell disappears and the left side of the coin and reveals the inner body of the turtle, made up of gears, pistons, and other mechanical parts. The left paws and the left side of the turtle's head also show the mechanical parts the turtle is made of. Close to the rim on the right, a pattern resembling the skin texture of this animal. The year of issue is shown on the left: "2022".
The coin's reverse depicts an intricate clock mechanism with many details in High Relief. The Mongolian Coat of Arms and the inscriptions "2000 TOGROG" – the face value, "MONGOLIA" – the issuing country, and "3 OZ.999 SILVER" – the weight and fineness of the Silver can be found on the left side of the obverse.

The obverse features a representation of Moses, a stunning sculpture by Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarroti. The original statue, which is about 8 feet tall, is housed in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. Only the top half of the sculpture is depicted in order to emphasize Moses' look and strained muscle.
Moses has massive muscular arms and an enraged, furious expression on his face. Moses' torso is dragged to the left, while his face is moved to the right, creating the impression that he is about to rise in rage.
I am sure that now you are wondering why Moses was so enraged. Here is the reason: Michelangelo decided to depict the moment when Moses returns from Mount Sinai with the Table of the Commandments and finds that the Israelites have constructed a golden calf to worship. He discovers that they were worshiping a pagan idol.
The sculpture has a fantastic metallic marble effect and some darker areas, such as the Tablets of the Commandments and parts of Moses' beard and arm, which are partially colored. The outer rim presents a frame with a typical Renaissance motif from which Moses appears to be coming out.
As you can see, Moses is portrayed with horns. This is due to a mistranslation of a Hebrew word that portrayed Moses as having light rays emanating from his head.
Let's have a look at the inscriptions on the obverse: "MMXXII", the year of issue in Roman numerals, is at the bottom. On the right: the name of the series, "ETERNAL SCULPTURES II", with the new logo, a miniature of David, and, below, the name of the coin, "MOSES".
The reverse of the coin depicts Moses' hand holding his beard, which is a detail from the sculpture. Smartminting technology has given the beard, muscles and veins a remarkably realistic appearance.
When the coin is tilted, it is easy to observe how high the Relief is. As for the reverse, the statue on the obverse has a metallic marble effect with darker areas partially colored, the background is Black Proof. The coin is Palau’s legal tender, the Coat of Arms is on the left and, below, there is an inscription with the face value: “20$”.

This dynamically rendered scene couldn't be more realistic! The Chinese character for "rabbit" is indicated inside a cartouche and, like the bunnies themselves, is highlighted in pure gold plating. There are no legends on this side to detract from the drama of the vignette.
• Tremendously low mintage—just 888! • Stunningly engraved design depicts a mother rabbit and her two baby bunnies beneath a cherry branch! • Multiple technologies: the black proof finish is highlighted with 24-karat pure gold gilding! • Each coin is individually numbered on the edge, matching the certificate number, making each coin truly unique!
The Year of the Rabbit
Centuries ago, the Chinese invented a calendar based on the lunar (rather than the solar) cycle. There are twelve animals in the Chinese lunar zodiac, each corresponding in sequence to a year rather than a month.
In 2023 we mark the Year of the Rabbit. According to tradition, people born during a Year of the Rabbit (1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011 and 2023) are said to exhibit that animal’s attributes. They are sociable, amiable, and artistic, and are often shy, soft-spoken and cautious. They are often noted for their elegance and good taste. Rabbits can be moody, superficial and self-centered, as well.
Celebrate the most happy Year of the Rabbit with this imposing, five ounce pure silver proof! The year 2023 is ruled by the sign of the Rabbit. The Rabbit personality is most likely to find true happiness. One can always count on the gracious Rabbit for good manners, kindness and sound counsel. He or she leads a tranquil existence and will do anything to avoid conflict. Don’t be fooled by the Rabbit’s soft and vulnerable exterior, however. This determined creature is actually quite strong and resilient. The Rabbit loves beautiful things, knows what it wants, and knows how to get it!
Obverse

In the 1980s, the genre gained global popularity thanks to William Gibson’s novel Neuromancer and the cult film Blade Runner. Other films such as Robo-Cop and Judge Dredd were released soon after. Finally, The Matrix wound up being the most cyberpunk-influenced and successful film of its era. 2023 - Disillusion
Disillusion is a beautiful 3 Oz Silver coin with a diameter of 50 mm. It has a Smartminting High Relief and features Black Proof Quality.
There are only 499 available worldwide!
The obverse of the coin is inspired by “Disillusion”, crafted by Italian artist Francesco Queirolo.
Disillusion, also known as "The Release from Deception," features a scene of an angel releasing a man from a net. This is a symbolic representation; the net represents sin, implying that the man is entangled in iniquity, but an angel frees him.
No matter how the monument is interpreted, it is universally acknowledged as a masterpiece, notably for the intricately carved net that has mesmerized onlookers for decades.
Minting the statue and the detailed net on this coin was a real challenge and took a lot of effort, but the outcome is absolutely astonishing!
Thanks to Smartminting Technology, the entire relief is stunning and each single knot of the net is extremely detailed.
The coin has Black Proof Quality, while the statue has a metallic marble effect and color application in some parts to produce shades and add additional depth to the design. A decorative frame in high relief with a characteristic Renaissance design encircles the statue, which in some parts is atop the frame. Thanks to this feature, the statue appears to be moving, leaving the frame and becoming real and animated.
Along with the name of the coin and the name of the series, the design also features the year of issuance in Roman numerals at the bottom.
The reverse side of all coins in this series depicts a detail of the obverse. For “Disillusion”, we chose the detail of the man’s hand tangled in the net. The coin is Palau’s legal tender, the Coat of Arms is on the left and, below, there is an inscription with the face value: “20$”.

To secure passage, the deceased had to pay Charon’s fee, such as an obolos or Persian denace, which ensured that proper funeral rites had been performed. Those unable to pay would haunt Acheron’s banks for a century as ghosts.
Although commonly linked to the River Styx, Charon’s task primarily pertained to the river Acheron. The association with the Styx, leading to Hades’ realm, was a later addition to the myth, as it was the most famous river of the Greek underworld.

Epic design! Twin dragons, one gold, one silver, duel for the elusive Pearl of Wisdom (engraved with the Chinese character for “dragon”), amidst a black proof backdrop of swirling clouds. There are no legends on the obverse, to further enhance this dramatic scene.
Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark’s brand-new effigy of King Charles III graces the reverse. The reverse has the inscriptions: "CHARLES III" - the name of the King, "NIUE 2024" - the issuing country and issuing year, "10 DOLLARS" - the face value and "5 oz 999 SILVER" - the weight and fineness of the Silver.
The Year of the Dragon—Most Powerful and Auspicious!
Centuries ago, the Chinese invented a calendar based on the lunar (rather than the solar) cycle. There are twelve animals in the Chinese lunar zodiac, each corresponding in sequence to a year rather than a month.
In 2024 we celebrate the Year of the Dragon. According to tradition, people born during a Year of the Dragon (1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024) are said to exhibit that animal’s attributes. While Dragons frequently help others, rarely will they ask for help. Others are attracted to Dragons, especially their colorful personalities, but deep down, Dragons prefer to be alone. Perhaps that is because they’re most successful when working alone. Their preference to be alone can come across as arrogance or conceitedness, but these qualities aren't applicable. Dragons have tempers that can flare fast! They’re driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. They’re passionate in all they do and they do things in grand fashion.
The Dragon in the East
The Oriental or Chinese concept of the dragon is much different than the European notion of this beast. Whereas in the West dragons are nearly always evil, fire breathing creatures of immense size and destructiveness, in the East they are beloved. Chinese dragons are benevolent, representing most auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, and floods. In yin and yang terminology, a dragon is yang (male) and perfectly complements a yin (female) fenghuang, the mythical "Chinese phoenix".
The dragon is a mystical being, able to use an almost unlimited range of magical or supernatural powers. It is able to disguise itself as a tiny silkworm, or become as large as our entire universe. It can fly among the clouds or hide in water. It can form clouds, turn into water or fire, become invisible or glow in the dark. It is interesting to note that the Oriental dragon's ability to fly is a magical (not a physical) ability; unlike European dragons, Chinese dragons are rarely if ever depicted with physical wings.
Historically, the dragon was the symbol of the Emperor of China. Many pictures of oriental dragons show a flaming pearl under their chin or in their grasp. The pearl is associated with wealth, good luck, and prosperity. In Chinese culture, the pearl also symbolizes perfection, which is only obtained through the highest forms of wisdom. As such, the pearl is retained in the clutches of the dragon, who, like the emperor, reveals great "pearls of wisdom" as it bestows abundance and prosperity upon its people.

2024 – Australia At Night: Rock Wallaby
The Ninth Coin in this Popular Series
This beautiful 1 Oz Silver coin is the new issue in the "Australia at Night" series, dedicated to some of the most fascinating nocturnal animals of Australia. In this edition: the Rock Wallaby. The coin has a stunning Relief, has a beautiful design, has a Black Proof quality.
Limited mintage of 1,000 pieces worldwide.
An adorable Aussie native, rock wallabies inhabit the cliffs and caves of the Australia's Great Dividing Range - from southwest Queensland to Victoria’s Grampians. These lithe creatures are largely active in the cool night.
This exquisite coin depicts a pair of Rock Wallabies, the so-called “marsupial gymnasts” of Australia. Rock Wallabies are nocturnal, ranging out at night to feed. With powerful hind legs, they can jump long distances, and they also have incredibly strong feet that they use to grip the rugged terrain where they live.
The obverse of the coin depicts two Rock Wallabies! Indigenous to Australia, they are creatures of the night, who occupy intricate, precipitous and craggy landscapes during the day, seeking refuge in a cave, overhang or vegetation. They emerge during the night to nourish themselves, venturing into the nearby vicinity. The mesmerizing black coin showcases a mother and her offspring amid the rocks, gleaming under a bright, full moon. The rocky outcrops and cliffs are meticulously rendered. The contrast of sparkling silver and black brings the rock wallabies to life under the light of a full moon – lending an aura of intimacy and magic to the scene. At the top of the obverse, the inscriptions: "AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT" – the name of the series and "ROCK WALLABY" – the name of the coin.
The reverse of the coin depicts the Effigy of King Charles III and the inscriptions: "CHARLES III" - the name of the King, "2024" – the year of issue, "ONE DOLLAR" – the face value and "1 OZ 999 SILVER" – the weight and the fineness of the Silver.
