2022 - Mongolia Magnificent Ram
This beautiful 3rd release in a 2 Oz Silver coin represents one of the largest wild sheep living in Asia – the Argali.
The coin features Smartminting technology, has an incredible design, and has Black Proof quality and a beautiful Ultra High Relief.
The obverse of the coin shows a front facing view and a side profile of an Argali. Argali (Mongolian for ram) are long-legged runners that escape predators primarily by running fast. They are hunted for both their meat and their horns, used in traditional Chinese medicine. Males have two large corkscrew shaped horns that they use for competing with each other. The side profile view on the reverse is struck in Ultra-High Relief with an incredible amount of detail given to the fur and the horn. The Smartminting relief extends all the way to the edge of the coin.
The reverse shows the corkscrew horns of an argali in ultra-high relief. The background has a unique geometric pattern with the hidden "2022" date struck into the design. The reverse also includes the Coat of Arms of Mongolia and the inscriptions: "1000 тогрог" – the face value, "MONGOLIA" – the country of issue and "2 oz .999 SILVER" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver.
