John Benson was the sutler for the 1st NY Mounted Rifles. The value of the token is 25 cents. This sutler issued tokens in denominations of 5, 10, and 50 cents as well. This is the only token that he issued, and he obtained his tokens from P.J.Jacobus of Philadelphia.
