On each side of the castle is a sentinel house, which like the three towers, have conical roofs --- all argent, mason sable, the portcullis and windows gules, the middle tower ensigned with a staff and banner charged with Royal Arms of Scotland.) There is a variety with the token and designs a little smaller, D&H 27: and another with the obverse exergue 1797; and the reverse exergue reading MONTROSE. The edge inscription is LONDON LIVERPOOL OR MONTROSE, Scarce.
