Woman in Profile in front of a tree, holding in her hand a crown and a laurel branch, symbols of victory. The Reverse is elegantly designed with laurel, oak and ivy branches surrounding a cartouche bearing the inscription, "L'Union Amicale Des Instituteur De La Seine; A M. Le Tessier 1903. Most likely made by Duseaux & Cie. The A.D. & Cie company was created by Adolphe Duseaux in 1830 in the Marais in Paris, and is still in existence today. The edge is marked bronze. (The A.D. & Cie Company started putting their initials on the edge of plaquettes around 1914 or so, during WWI). Edge marked Bronze. Size: 60mm x 46mm. Very attractive with original patina.
