PCGS Gen 3 Doily Holder

PCGS lists this style as generation 2 used before the first OGH while Conder lists this as just after the first OGH style holder. I suspect that the order put forth by PCGS is more correct, but as I wrote in the set description, I am keeping with the Conder101 order. I have seen a few different date ranges applied to this generation, Conder101 said it was only used in Dec 1989, another reference (as well as the PCGS holder hall of fame) suggested it was used from Sept 1989 thru Dec 1989. Given that this is difficult to locate but not impossible I think the Sept to Dec 1989 range makes sense.

PCGS has offered a retro dolly style label (just like the retro black holder that NGC introduced), I do not have the exact dates this retro label was offered. I have been told that only bulk submitters submitting ASE's could request the retro label at first, then in 2017 PCGS offered the retro label to all submitters of any coin. I have only seen a handful of those retro dolly labels so I do not think they were a very popular item.

While difficult but not super rare this holder style can be very expensive to acquire, I was lucky to add this to my collection before the holder collecting boom began to boost prices.
