This National Commemorative Medal was struck to commemorate the two hundredth and fiftieth anniversary of the founding of Mobile, Alabama. Medals were struck at the Philadelphia Mint and provided to the Mobile 250th Anniversary Corporation for sale. 5000 medals were struck in .900 fine silver only.
