Obverse: A portico with a clock above the architrave ST. PAULS CHURCH CONVENT GARDEN ERECT.D 1640. DESTROYD. BY FIRE 1795 in three lines
Reverse: The Arms of the city of London between palm branches crossed beneath the shield, legend on a raised rim LONDON PENNY TOKEN, a small ornament at the bottom

The church was built in 1633 on the north side of Covent Garden for the Duke of Bedford. It was gutted by fire on September 17th, 1795, but the outer walls escaped damage and the building was reconstructed from the original plans.
One of Peter Kempson's series of London building tokens made for collectors. The series consists of 39 tokens portraying 25 buildings, 3 bridges, and 8 ancient gates of London.
