Bath Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery founded in the 7th century. The Abbey was reorganized in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 16th century. The Benedictine community was dissolved in 1539 as part of Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries.
The Bath Guildhall was built between 1775 and 1778 and is surmounted by the figure of Justice.
