Medals issued by William Penn Commemoration Committee, which staged event; designed by Julio Kilenyi, New York sculptor; struck by Whitehead & Hoag Co.

Official Medals actually issued in two sizes and two metals; large 3-inch size precluded from listing here. Smaller official pieces below sold in Silver for $1, in Copper for 25 cents. Issue was quite limited. The bust of Penn in armor on the obverse was taken from the only known original portrait of Penn. The reverse scene shows Penn shaking hands with an Indian Chief after his first land purchase from the Indians.
