Owner Comments:

Most of the second place or "silver" medals presented at the Expo were silver plated bronze like this specimen. Presented to the Eastern Lumber Company of Portland, Oregon for fir logs and planks.

The actual silver medals are known to be rarities, but all of these award medals are rare and expensive. I have seen fewer "silvered" examples offered for sale than silver. And at this point, you see very few bronze or even gilt bronze medals offered. I thought this one was closer to an AU55 than the AU50 grade it received, but there is a lot of chatter on lady liberty's body. Still, it is pretty piece with wear and marks on the highpoints with darker fields that create a nice two-tone look.
