Medal, Plaquette, 1934, Bronze, Denmark. 50th ANNIVERSARY POLITIKEN and FOUNDER VIGGO HORUP (1841-1902). Large Bronze uniface plaque in uncirculated condition. Issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Danish daily newspaper Politiken and it's founder Viggo Hørup (1841-1902). Hørup was a Danish politician, journalist and agitator. He founded Politiken - a radical liberal newspaper - in 1884 and it is today one of Denmark's leading newspapers. Hørup's portrait appears on the plaque with the newspaper's name and anniversary dates above. It comes with the original blue and gold case with card insert. Size: 110mm x 68mm. Weight: 193 Grams.
