Owner Comments:
JNDA 01-31. A single year coin produced near the end of the war. The denomination is now so debased that it is on a holed, tin planchet. The obverse is a simple arrangement of 'Dai Nippon' (Great Japan) above the center hole with the regnal date below. The reverse has the Imperial Chrysanthemum Crest above the hole, the denomination characters to the sides, and a paulownia arrangement below. The design is the same as the 5 sen denomination that year.
The reactive metal makes it difficult to find in good condition.
Diameter 19 mm, tin, weight 2.4 grams.
