JNDA 01-43. A single year wartime issue produced in tin (which makes finding good quality specimens challenging given the reactive nature of the metal). The obverse is a simple arrangement of 'Dai Nippon' (Great Japan) above and the date below the center hole. The reverse has the chrysanthemum crest above, the denomination characters to the sides and a paulownia arrangement below. The design is also utilized in the 10 sen denomination.
Diameter 17 mm, tin, weight 1.95 grams.
