Mexico Modern Mint Errors (Blank Planchets)

First off, I want to apologize since this is going to be the most boring Registry Set you will ever want to see, however beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as they say, and I really love this coin (blank planchet) collection.

Although these particular errors are not the most exciting to look at, I’m laying them out here since they still have a place in Mexican numismatics and should be enjoyed right alongside all of the other errors within my collection.

One must wonder how these even made it into the market, but it is quite possible and most easy since the Mexican Mint like other mints, has thousands upon thousands of blanks ready to be struck into coinage and some are just lucky enough to bypass the striking process and get loaded into the mint bags of struck coins which eventually get shipped to the various banks and eventually reach circulation only to be snatched up by collectors when found.

The one interesting thing about Mexican errors is that many errors from the mid 1970's to the late 1980's are quite prevalent and reasonably inexpensive. Why are there so many? Some believe that the mint was passing these out as souvenirs and others believe that someone within the mint was "making" these errors and then sneaking them out to be sold in the market. I have no evidence of that, but it does make for a good story.
