Uniformly and seemingly fully struck, any minor loss of detail present attributable to only brief circulation. A small scrape is noted to the right of João's portrait for accuracy.
View Coin LMB-140 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1740/30B NGC XF Details João V gold 6400 Reis 1740/30-B XF Details (Cleaned) NGC, Bahia mint, KM151, LMB-140. An elusive overdate variety - the first of its kind that we have offered to-date.

Flashy at the peripheries, with a quasi-satiny appearance throughout the majority of the surfaces resulting in an inviting appeal, the general sharpness of the devices and quality of preservation leaving no doubt as to the near-Mint State quality of this specimen.
View Coin LMB-156 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 2000R 1723/2R NGC XF 40 João V gold 2000 Reis 1723/2-R XF40 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM112, LMB-156. Moderately circulated with pockets of luster preserved in the protected areas. A desirable harvest gold example of this overdate variety.

While the surfaces appear somewhat muted, it is certainly true that this example lacks most of the handling and abrasions usually found on coins of this grade level. Satiny surfaces with touches of honey-gold toning throughout and good eye appeal. Ex. Paulistana Collection.

View Coin LMB-393 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1763B NGC AU 55 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1763-B AU55 NGC, Bahia mint, KM172.1. Bold and lustrous, with only the date showing an insignificant degree of weakness. This offering is the first that we have sold of this mint-date combination. Ex Santa Cruz Collection.
View Coin LMB-396 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1766B NGC AU 58 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1766-B AU58 NGC, Bahia mint, KM172.1, LMB-396. Truly bordering on uncirculated, with no apparent wear to the devices themselves but just a slight roughness in the fields pointing to a short period in circulation. Ex Grand Castello Collection.
View Coin LMB-398 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1768B NGC AU 53 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1768-B AU53 NGC, Bahia mint, KM172.1, LMB-398. Offering good detail for the assigned grade, this lightly circulated specimen is both an appealing example and a strong value proposition for the more budget-minded collector. Ex Santa Cruz Collection.
View Coin LMB-400 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1770B NGC AU 55 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1770-B AU55 NGC, Bahia mint, KM172.1, LMB-400. Evenly worn in line with the Almost Uncirculated grade, yet with a generous coverage of velvety luster and dashes of deep red toning adding to the eye appeal. Ex Santa Cruz Collection.
View Coin LMB-405 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1775B NGC AU 58 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1775-B AU58 NGC, Bahia mint, KM172.1, LMB-405. Quite bold in the legends, with scattered hints of luster and a notable degree of reflectivity on the reverse. Ex Grand Castello Collection.
View Coin LMB-407 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1777B JOSEPH I NGC AU 53 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1777-B AU53 NGC, Bahia mint, KM172.1. A lightly circulated example, and attractive, exhibiting a faint coppery patina. AGW 0.4229 oz.
View Coin LMB-415 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 3200R 1760R NGC XF 40 Jose I gold 3200 Reis 1760-R XF40 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM183.2, LMB-415. Well-centered on a surprisingly lustrous lemon-gold planchet, Jose's portrait naturally smoothed over from circulation wear, though significant detailing otherwise remaining intact. A notably scarcer issue, very likely representing a gap in any series collector's cabinet.
View Coin LMB-440 BRAZIL COLONIAL/IMPERIAL 6400R 1772R NGC AU 55 Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1772-R AU55 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM172.2, LMB-440, Gomes-55.26. Demonstrating captivating eye appeal for a circulated specimen, the offering glows with a pleasing soft golden luster, most of which has been retained from its earlier Mint condition. The piece shows remarkably clean surfaces for the grade, a thin scratch running through the bust only visible at a sharp oblique angle and having minimal impact on the eye appeal of this offering, which comes exceptionally close to appearing uncirculated. Ex. Ipanema Collection.

A scarce issue perpetually sought by collectors of the Brazilian series for its elusiveness and rarity. Evenly struck, resulting in well-defined central devices, these moderately rubbed from circulation but well-outlined nonetheless.
