Set Description
Coins of all denominations (1D, 2D, 4D, and 8D) from the Bailiwick of Guernsey. These coins were issued from 1830 - 1966.

From Wikipedia: Guernsey, officially the Bailiwick of Guernsey, is a British Crown dependency in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. The Bailiwick of Guernsey embraces not only all 10 parishes on the Island of Guernsey, but also the islands of Herm, Jethou, and Lihou. Furthermore, the Bailiwick includes Alderney and Sark, each of which has its own parliament. Although its defense is the responsibility of the United Kingdom, and despite common belief, the Bailiwick of Guernsey is not part of the UK - and while Guernsey lies within the Common Travel Area, it is not part of the European Union. The Bailiwick of Guernsey is included (along with the Bailiwick of Jersey) in the geographical (but not political) grouping known as the Channel Islands.

View Coin 1D 1938H GUERNSEY DOUBLE 1938H PCGS MS 66 Red Outstanding Guernsey one double with strong strike and great original luster. Coin is housed in a PCGS Secure holder with the gold shield on the label. A few very light contact marks and scratches are present commensurate with grade. View Coin 2D 1885H GUERNSEY 2D 1885H PCGS MS 65 Red Brown Excellent Guernsey two doubles with strong strike and nice original luster. Date side of coin is 80-90% red with most of brown on rim. Shield side is 60-70% red with most of brown being on rim, high parts of devices, GUERNESEY, and in upper left quadrant of fields. Coin is housed in a PCGS Secure holder with the gold shield on the label. A few very light contact marks and scratches are present commensurate with grade. View Coin 4D 1864 GUERNSEY 4D 1864 NGC AU Details Interesting Guernsey four doubles with pleasing blend of light milk chocolate brown and still some wispy areas of original red color with nice details on devices. Coin is graded AU Details due to a more prominent obverse scratch. Light contact marks, scratches, and light wear are commensurate with grade. View Coin 8D 1858 GUERNSEY 8D 1858 NGC AU 53 BN Interesting Guernsey eight doubles with pleasing milk chocolate brown color and nice details on devices. Coin has light green coloration along rims and around obverse rim mottos (possible early vertigras)? Light contact marks, scratches, and light wear are commensurate with grade. View Coin 8D 1889H GUERNSEY 8D 1889H NGC MS 62 RB Interesting Guernsey eight doubles with strong strike and great luster. Coin has tons of original red coloration. Very light contact marks, scratches are commensurate with higher grade. Cost: $38.50 on 3/1/16 on eBay from Tara Slouchtchik(5034eva).
