Owner's Description

This is a Wood's Hibernia half penny. Although this coin was made in Ireland, it was used in the American colonies.I bought this coin raw on eBay. It is a great coin with wonderful surfaces. For some reason this coin sold way under catalogue. It think the die cracks may have had some bidders concerned. I find such features on coins from the colonial period to add character. Like a few other coppers that circulated in the colonies, this coin was made for use in Ireland but ended up here.
