Owner's Description
US Indian Head or Buffalo Nickel (1913-1938) 1913 Type 1 MS-65 Census - 6591 NGC graded coins - 2243 MS-65 - 1535 graded higher There are two types of this nickel. Type 1 – 1913 only Raised Ground Type 2 – 1913 to 1938 FIVE CENTS in Recess I purchased this coin at a local estate auction. It was part of a five lot of 1913 nickels (3 Type-1 and two Type 2). All five were in old dealer stock 2X2 envelopes and all were marked UNC’s. When I got home I didn’t know what to do with them. They maybe all UNC’s but a couple had real weak strikes and I did not know if the others were worth the certification fee. So I decided to take a chance with the best looking of the five coins. I lucked out and it is a keeper. Now my question is the heck do I do with the others :>) My cost for the lot of five coins was $92.50 but after selling two of the remaining coins that is down to $56.50.
