Owner's Description
United States Coinage Seated Liberty Dollar – No Motto (1840-65) 1843 XF-45 The design of the seated liberty dollars minted from 1840 to 1866 was the work of Robert Ball Hughes. Although the obverse at first glance may appear to be the design of Christian Gobrecht there are numerous subtle difference in the design all of which appear to be negatives when compared to Gobrecht’s design. The biggest change in Gobrecht’s design is the reverse. Here Gobrecht’s wonderful flying eagle is replace with what has been called the sandwich-board eagle. My cost for this coin was $350
