The reverse recognizes major historic events in the United States during the same year, 1806." EDGE: The Franklin Mint Solid Bronze SERIES BACKGROUND: "Issued in the 1969 Franklin Mint '200 Year History of the United States Commemorative Limited Edition Set' which depicts the history of the United States. For each issue/year, the reverse lists the major events for the year and the obverse depicts the most important. In 1969, two per month were released with the bronze version coming out three months later. In regards to the 1806 Zebulon Pike issue, there was also one platinum version minted at a cost of $950.
