MEMORABILIA APPEARANCE/CONDITION: *A Historic Piece Produced in Support Of The "1976 Colorado Centennial - U.S. Bicentennial Event" And The Mint-Medals Associated w/ The Celebration -- The Envelope And Stamp Are In Excellent, Near Mint-Condition; No Fading, Bent Corners, Markings, Stains Or Tears; Seal Adhesive Has Never Been Used; Embossed Medallic Emblem On Cover Is In Immaculate Condition And Produces A Deep Sheen -- A Scarcer Issue That Was Somewhat-Challenging To Obtain* MEMORABILIA BACKGROUND: "The First Day of Issue is the only First Day Cover with the Centennial Stamp issued by the Postal Service and produced by the State of Colorado for its citizens in commemoration of the State's 100th anniversary. The medal embossed is a replica of the Colorado Congressional Centennial Medal, the first Congressional medal ever struck at the Denver Mint. -- The Centennial Stamp is priced at 13¢ and displays the words "Colorado" and "The Centennial State" while also exhibiting the state flower (a columbine.) The envelope itself is post-marked "Denver, Colo. May 21, 1977. " RARITY: Likely scarce, especially in such exceptional; unused condition.
