Owner's Description

MEMENTO APPEARANCE/CONDITION: *A very interesting, fascinating and unique piece -- even wear throughout the example is present but no damage is apparent. Overall, the memento seems to remain in the grade of a solid "Fine."* MEMENTO BACKGROUND: Background research yielded no results as it is apparent this piece is exceedingly scarce. It is very likely that this looped specimen was an employee or member memento for the Colorado Mining Association. If any information regarding this piece is known, I would be grateful if you reached out. RARITY: Likely extremely scarce; I have not encountered or seen any other specimens that even come close to resembling that of this one. MEMENTO DESCRIPTION: (Nickel, 5.2 grams, 15x25mm, Octagonal Rectangle [Looped]) OBVERSE: Colorado State Emblem REVERSE: Colorado / Mining Assn. / 1897-1947 HISTORICAL DESCRIPTION: "The Colorado Mining Association (CMA), was established in 1876 and incorporated in 1897. The CMA, headquartered in Denver, serves as a spokesman for the mining industry in Colorado." -- Colorado Mining Association
