TOKEN APPEARANCE/CONDITION: *Interesting Piece w/ Light Tan Clean Surfaces - Diamond Shaped Cut-Out In Middle Of Token Is Naturally How Piece Was Made* TOKEN BACKGROUND: "Token was used for the White House Tavern in Leadville, CO circa 1908." CATALOG NUMBER: Pritchard LE1140 RARITY: 21 Known to Exist TOKEN DESCRIPTION: (Brass, 21mm, Round [Diamond Cut-Out]) OBVERSE: White / House REVERSE: Good for 12 1/2ยข / in Trade HISTORICAL TOWN/CITY DESCRIPTION: (LEADVILLE, CO) "Once a front-runner in becoming the state capital. Horace and Baby Doe Tabor had a mine in Leadville and you can still visit their house which is now a museum. The mine, called the Matchless Mine was the place where a destitute Baby Doe Tabor was found frozen to death. Doc Holliday also frequented Leadville as a gambler.
