Owner Comments:
Minted under the Reign of King John of Saxony. Saxony, like Bavaria, sided with Austria in the war with Prussia. After Prussia's victory Saxony becomes part of the Prussian Empire and a unified Germany begins to take shape. All of this happens under the reign of King John.
This coin is a good example of many German States Coins. It has a very interesting coat of arms on one side and a rather mundane obverse with little decoration at all.
