OBVERSE: The emblem of the Republic of Cyprus. ( A dove flying with a branch of olive within its beak, in a shield inscribed with the date 1960. All within an open wreath of olive leaves). The date above the shield.
REVERSE: A bunch of grapes. Cyprus is one of the oldest vine-growing countries in the world, and grapes form one of the island's main products. A figure 50 below the bunch.
DIAMETER: 23.7 mm.
WEIGHT: 5.65 g.
EDGE: Grained.
METAL COMPOSITION: Copper 75%, Nickel 25%.
ENGRAVER: W. M. Gardner.
MINT : Royal Mint, London.
