Obverse: - View of a wooden bridge over water, with a small boat afloat: a town and some shipping being seen in the distance. Legend: - MARE DITAT. In the exergue, MONTROSE
Reverse: - A woman seated at a spinning wheel facing to the right. Legend: - SURE ARE THE REWARDS OF INDUSTRY. with 1796bin the exergue.
Edge: - PAYABLE BY I. BISSET & SON MONTROSE - X -
Diesinker, Davies; manufacturer Good. Scarce.
There is a variety with the token and designs a little smaller, D&H 27: and another with the obverse exergue 1797; and the reverse exergue reading MONTROSE. The edge inscription is LONDON LIVERPOOL OR MONTROSE, Scarce.
