Obverse: - A horse drawing a cart laden with two bales marked T.R. and D.R. respectively. Legend: - SIC ITUR AD OPES with WRIGHT DES in the exergue.
Reverse: - Front view of a large building with a pointed pediment, spire and vane. Legend: - ** DUNDEE FARTHING ** In the field 17 97 In the exergue, TRADES HALL.
Edge: - Plain, struck in collar
Die sinker: Wyon: Manufacturer, Kempson. One CWT struck.
Common

There is a similar token, D&H 40, dated 1796, but the reverse exergue reads in error TRADES ALL and only a few pounds were struck. There is a similar token, D&H 41, with the same error, but dated 1797. This is rare.
