Struck in silver with Reeded edge

Obverse: Bust of Liberty wearing a Cap ornamented with 2 stars and a ribbon flows down and around her shoulder with LIBERTY inscribed with RAISED letters and letter “B” in the back of Liberty Neck.. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA wraps around the top perimeter and our Mottos IN GOD WE TRUST is within a scroll below

Reverse: The denomination 50 Cents and the date 1870 is in the center of the wreath of Cotton and corn and inscription STANDARD is at the top.


Comment:
The surfaces have unusual toning, deep orange-russet and blue with occasional dabs of brilliance. Fully struck throughout with no obvious flaws.
