The only design changed from the previous year was for the reverse design where the Z for ZUID was changed to the more Afrikaans used spelling SUID.
The obverse design shows the crowned & coronation enrobed bust of King George V with inscription GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR. The reverse design shows without the beaded circle, seen on the 1923 & 1924 design, the standing draped female figure of HOPE, which is representative of the Cape Province. She is facing right gazing over a calm sea with her right arm leaning on an anchor. There is also a sixpointed star to the right of her left shoulder. The inscription reads * SOUTH - AFRICA * DATE * SUID - AFRIKA * SHILLING . This design was used for all subsequent years up to and including 1936.
