Owner Comments:
The Roosevelt dime is now the the oldest surviving design among circulating coins. It has not changed since its inception in 1946, the year after the death of FDR. The only major change occurred in 1965 when the composition changed from silver to clad.
In 1996, the 50th anniversary of the Roosevelt dime, the West Point Mint produced the first dime with a W mintmark. It was added as a bonus to mint sets that year.
In 2017, the 225th anniversary of the mint, the San Francisco Mint produced a unique "Enhanced Mint Set" which included a clad dime with a special finish.
This coin is part of a 2003-S proof set in a 5-coin holder (cent, nickel, dime, half, and dollar).
