Owner Comments:
Proof silver Roosevelt dimes were issued in regular annual proof sets from 1950-1964 until LBJ removed silver from coins. For collectors, the mint introduced a new Silver Proof Set in 1992 to run parallel to the regular annual proof set. These proof sets are struck at the San Francisco Mint and feature a silver Roosevelt dime.
Two special silver proofs were made in 2015 on the 70th Anniversary of the March of Dimes and issued with the March of Dimes commemorative silver dollar. The program initiated by FDR is credited to curing the polio pandemic. The two special proofs were:
1) 2015-W Proof
2) 2015-P Reverse Proof
In 2018, the San Francisco Mint also produced a special Silver Reverse Proof Set including a Roosevelt dime.
Starting in 2019, the mint changed the composition of silver coins from .900 to .999.
This 2014-S proof is from the FDR Coin and Chronicles Set.
