3 Kreuzer minted in Bavaria under the rule of Ludwig I. The coin is rather plain with the coat of arms being the most interesting aspect of the coin.
Ludwig was a strong monarch with a love of women and the arts. One most notable creation of Ludwig I is the temple of Walhalla where Great people of Germanic culture are enshrined. While he was certainly an eccentric, he would be foreshadowed by his Grandson, Ludwig II. Ludwig adbicated rather than submit to a constitutional monarchy that would limit his powers.
