Set Description
1/13/2007 - I do not know where this set is going yet.

I will start with the American Silver Eagle Proof Dollar (NGC PF70) and add to it different types of coins including some of the international coinage as well.

The US minted coins will be: one silver proof dime, 5 silver proof quarters, one silver proof Kennedy half dollar, one American Silver Eagle Proof Dollar, and two Sacagawea Dollars: 2000 NGC PF70 & NGC MS67PL from the US Mint Millennium SET. The two Sacagawea Dollars will be exceptions from my "silver rule."
I also think about adding some international silver and proof coins to my Millennium Set. I am just having fun :).

On 1/18/2007 : a (NGC) PF70 silver dime, 5 (NGC) PF70 silver quarters, and a (NGC) PF70 silver Kennedy half Dollar are coming in the mail.

On 1/19/2007 I also added one more coin to my set from the United States Millennium Coinage and Currency Set: MS69 Silver American Eagle.

My MS69 Silver American Eagle and MS67PL Sacagawea Dollar have the "Millennium Set" Pedigree.

On 1/19/2006 I added my first 2 international coins to my set: a silver proof from Liberia (graded PR69 by PCGS) and a silver proof from Australia (not graded yet).

Hence, my set has already 13 coins.

1/28/2007 The focus for this set is becoming clearer as I buy new coins.
Right now, I envision my Millennium Set to consist of 22 coins (11 minted in the U.S.A. & 11 international).

The 50% of my Millenium Set: 11 US minted coins is finished. Hence, now it's time to look for some (9) nice proof silver coins from the outside of the U.S.A. It will take some time between searching for and grading of these coins :).

On 3/20/2007 Two more coins were added to my international part of this set - both graded Proof 69 by PCGS and issued by the Republic of Liberia. One is the tribute to the Seated liberty Silver Dollar and the second is the tribute to the Standing liberty Quarter. they are both beautiful designs. I need 7 more international coins to acquire to initially complete this set.

Set Goals
The US and foreign (50/50) silver proof and silver coins from the year 2000.
"Silver" is the key word here. However, I can foresee a few exceptions from that rule.

View Coin PF70 American Silver Eagle United States S$1 2000 P EAGLE NGC PF 70 UC Acquired on 12/22/2006. Population 1 of 1,870 by NGC as of 7/2012. It is a tough date to find in this grade and at a reasonable price. Nevertheless, there is a quite generous number of coins graded PF70 from that year.
View Coin PF70 2000 Sacagawea United States $1 2000 S NGC PF 70 UC I acquired this coin on 1/21/2007. The Circulation Mintage was 3,082,483 coins. Population 1 of 782 with none graded higher by NGC as of 1/2007. The Sacagawea dollar was authorized by Congress in 1997. The obverse was designed by artist Glenna Goodacre, using Shoshone Randy'L He-dow Teton as a model for Sacagawea. There are approximately 1 billion Sacagawea coins in circulation and about 250 million more in reserve. The United States Mint greatly reduced production of Sacagawea dollars after the 2001 minting, citing sufficient inventory. As of 2006, the dollar is still being minted for collectors, and is available in Uncirculated Rolls, Mint Sets, and Proof Sets, but has not been released for general circulation since 2001.Composition: 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese & 2% nickel.
View Coin MS67PL Sacagawea Millennium Set United States $1 2000 D NGC MS 67 "The United States Millennium Coinage and Currency Set" - As described by the United States Mint; “First issued by the U.S. Mint in 2000, the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea honors the Shoshone teenager and mother who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their journey up the Missouri River and across America’s unexplored wilderness to the Pacific Ocean and back in 1805.”
The coin was only available in “The United States Millennium Coinage and Currency Set.” There were only 75,000 of those sets produced.
The 2000 NGC MS67PL Millennium Set Sacagawea Golden Dollar has a population of only 949 with 212 graded higher by NGC as of 1/2007.
The coin was struck using specially burnished dies giving it a proof-like finish.
The pedigree “Millennium Set” justifies the inclusion of this coin in my set. It was acquired on 1/19/2007.
View Coin MS69 ASE Mint Millennium SET United States $1 2000 NGC MS 69 "The United States Millennium Coinage and Currency Set" - The 2000 NGC MS69 Millennium Set Silver American Eagles have a population of only 1687. This coin was only available in “The United States Millennium Coinage and Currency Set.” There were only 75,000 sets made by the Mint.
It was acquired on 1/19/2007.
The pedigree “Millennium Set” justifies the inclusion of this coin in my set.
View Coin PR69 Morgan Dollar - Liberia Liberia $10 2000 S PCGS MS 69 My first 2000 international coin with a very familiar image on the obverse :).Miss Liberty #1 in my collection designed by George T. Morgan issued from 1878 to 1904 and in 1921. - It is a frosted white gem example of this tribute to the famous United States Morgan Silver Dollar with an eagle reverse.

It is too bad that the eagle is not the original Morgan's design but the one taken from the reverse of the "Seated Liberty" design.

The coin was certified almost perfect Proof-69 by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Face value of $10, issued by Liberia.
View Coin PR69 Liberia $10 2000 S PCGS MS 69 Seated Miss Liberty #2 in my collection. The tribute to The Seated Liberty Silver Dollar issued from 1836 to 1891. - This tribute coin was inspired by the Seated Liberty Silver Dollar.

The seated Liberty design appeared on the US silver coinage of half dime, the dime, the quarter, the half dollar, and the silver dollar from 1836 through 1891.

The basic obverse design of the Seated Liberty coinage consisted of the figure of the goddess Liberty clad in a flowing dress and seated upon a rock. In her left hand, she held a pole surmounted by a liberty cap, which had been a symbol of freedom.

When the first Seated Liberty half dimes and dimes appeared in 1837, the obverse contained no stars. The next year, the coins featured thirteen six-pointed stars around the rim, commemorating the original thirteen colonies - My tribute coin misses a couple of stars :).

On the reverse there is an eagle about to take flight, with a striped shield upon its breast. The eagle clutched an olive branch of peace in its right talons and a group of arrows in its left talons. Above the eagle around the rim were the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and below the eagle around the rim lay the coin denomination.

Beginning in 1866 the coins featured a ribbon with the motto "In God We Trust" above the eagle.
View Coin PR69 Liberia $10 2000 S PCGS MS 69 Standing Miss Liberty #3.The tribute to the Standing Liberty quarter issued from 1916 to 1930. - This tribute coin was inspired by the Standing Liberty Quarter which was issued from 1916 to 1930 by the United States Mint.
This is the type One which features the Liberty with a bared breast - Type two has the breast covered.

The coin featured Liberty on the obverse and an American eagle in flight on the reverse - Unfortunately the tribute coin has an eagle taken from the reverse of the "Seated Liberty" design. I really like the original eagle in flight design.

Liberty carries an upraised shield in her left hand and an olive branch in her right hand.

In higher grades this is one of the most expensive circulating U.S. coins of the 20th century.
