Set Description
As a collector of any and all tokens and medals with images of Abraham Lincoln, I’ve gradually acquired several Masonic Pennies that portray his image. Not surprisingly, these were issued by chapters in cities named after the famous President: Lincoln, Nebraska; Lincoln, Illinois; and Lincoln Park, Illinois, a neighborhood in Chicago. There are four main varieties:

1. King 432: Lincoln Park, IL. Cunningham 18-040. I have examples in copper, silver, aluminum, and brass.
2. King 433: Lincoln, IL. Cunningham 18-240. I have examples in copper and German silver. Cunningham says that nickel, bronze, brass, and aluminum strikings also exist.
3. King 436: Lincoln Park, IL, a second design with a bust containing more of Lincoln’s shoulders. Cunningham 18-060. I have examples in copper, aluminum, and silver. Cunningham says there are also bronze and white metal varieties. King also lists other minor varieties with different die sinker names (437 and 1089).
4. King 438: Lincoln, NE. Cunningham 18-320. I have a copper example that is the Cunningham plate image in the reference book. Cunningham lists silvered brass and silver varieties.

The Cunningham reference shows a variety in Nickel (none in GS) and the coin was sold to me as Nickel, however when it came back from NGC they put GS on the label.

View Coin K-438 Copper United States 28mm UNDATED K-438, CU LINCOLN CHAPTER No. 6 LINCOLN, NE NGC MS 64 BN This coin is the plate image in the Cunningham reference. I suspect this one is quite rare, because I have never seen any other examples for sale nor can I find any past auction records.
