The San Francisco Mint produced two different varieties of the 1979 S Proof Roosevelt Dime where one had a filled in S (Type 1) and the other had a Clear S (Type 2). The coin above is the Type 1 Filled S version. This can be best identified by the S being filled in like a blob.

The San Francisco Mint produced two different varieties of the 1981 S Proof Roosevelt Dime where one had a filled in S (Type 1) and the other had a Clear S (Type 2). The coin above is the Type 1 Filled S version. This can be best identified by the S being filled and not and well defined. The Type 2 is also "flatter" in a vertical sense with more styling than the Type 1 and has rounded ends to the "S".

Yellowstone National Park is a national park located in the U.S. states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first National Park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of its most popular features. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.

Rocky was 21 in November. The time has gone by so quickly. I chose the Gettysburg quarter for this year as it is one of our favorite places to visit. We've spent many hours wondering the fields in Gettysburg reading the plaques and picturing the great Civil War battle unfolding in front of us. It's truly an amazing place.
