View Coin Liberty Seated V-6 United States H10C 1837 SEATED V-6, Small Date NGC MS 66 NGC graded MS 66
Variety: V-6, Small Date.

I purchased this coin at the 2007 Maryland State Numismatic Association show in Ocean City. I had just started my half dime set. This was the second member of the set. I was probably too excited about getting it at the time. It is a nice coin, but I probably over-paid for it.

It has subtle golden toning over nicely lustrous surfaces. There is one tiny mark before Liberty's face. The strike is full, and the die erosion around Liberty's left arm and leg is obvious.

Luster: 4/4

View Coin Liberty Seated V-7w United States H10C 1837 SM DATE SEATED V-7w NGC MS 65 NGC graded MS 65
Variety: V-7u; Small Date (This variety has a late state of the V-5 obverse, with a new notched leaf reverse.)

This coin is the first identified example of the V-7 marriage. Shortly after discovering this one, I identified several others. It is not difficult to find.

Luster: TBD
