San Francisco Mint Cornerstone Coins

Set Description
In 1870, the cornerstone for the 2nd San Francisco Mint was laid. The casket in the cornerstone contains, among other things, a complete set of 1870-S coins of every denomination, including several (half-dime, quarter, silver dollar, three-dollar gold) that were not produced for circulation. This set collects the issues that were released for circulation.

There are eight slots in this set, and while approximately ten examples of the S$1 are known, I have little chance of actually procuring one.

Set Goals
There are 8 slots in this set. In practical terms, there are seven slots since 1870-S silver dollars are extremely rare.
