Mexico Peso Type 2 Set 1918-1919

Set Description
Type Two Pesos are defined by a different design and a reduction in size from the Caballito Pesos of 1910-1914. This issue features the Cap and Ray design. The coin is 34 mm and weighs 18.125 grams; ASW is .4663 and coin is .800 silver and .200 copper. There are two issues (1918 & 1919) of which the 1918 has varieties that are "the wide date;" and the 8/7. There is also a doubled 1918 over 1918. These coins are expensive in mint state-especially the 1918. The best value are coins in AU but these coins do not become available that often--especially with attractive eye appeal.

To acquire affordable AU issues that have eye appeal. Acquiring 1918 varieties is not a goal.
